Job Description:

You're joining a small but efficient data warehouse team, and you're looking to make a real difference. You understand that engineers make business decisions every day, and you think you can bring a perfect balance between over-worrying about all the exception cases and just getting things done as quickly as possible. You're joining our team because you like the idea of working on the back-end side of things while teaming up with a first-class front-end UI engineer. Responsibilities:

• Work directly with a cross-functional team of engineers, producers, business analysts, and QA to develop an innovative cutting-edge data warehouse platform for PlayFirst Social Games.
• Design and implement features from concept to completion balancing business needs between quality, scalability, maintainability, performance on one hand versus efficient and speedy implementation on the other.
• Be responsible for the full life-cycle of projects, including requirements design, technical design, task estimation, implementation, automated testing, debugging, and deployment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science.
• 4 or more years of experience developing and successfully delivering highly scalable data warehouses.
• Experience designing and building high availability, highly scalable database applications.
• Strong background in modern PHP as well as LAMP server development and automated unit testing.
• Experience working in a *nix environment.
• Strong experience with various database technologies including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with noSQL technologies.
• Experience with distributed data caching systems such as Memcached and distributed queuing systems such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc...
• Experience developing applications in a startup environment emphasizing collaborative design and individual responsibility.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must have current US work authorization.

Preferred:

• Experience with MongoDB.
• Experience with scripting languages (at least one of perl, bash, ksh).
• Experience developing and deploying networked multiplayer games.
