Playpass question

Posted: November 12, 2008 at 08:23
This is something I haven't seen addressed anywhere so far. After you cancel Playpass, if you still have Playgold left in your account, does that mean the games you buy with it will be full price? That's how I undestand it and if that's the case I would say it is a major flaw. In other similar plans (BFG, RealArcade, iWin, etc.), as far as I am aware, once you have a credit/iCoins/whatever, you can spend it and get the member discount even after you've cancelled.

Well, since Play Gold is for non Play-Pass holders too I guess thats why.

Yeah, I know. I guess the only way they could get around that is to cancel Playgold for non-Playpass subscribers...

Hi Tempehwingz,

If you cancel PlayPass, your membership actually continues through the end of your billing cycle (or the end of the commitment period if that hasn't been met yet).  So you still get the discounted prices for that time.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that your billing cycle isn't the same as the calendar month.  It's based on the day you signed up for it.  You can check the exact dates in your profile.

Hope this helps!  (Love the name, btw, tempeh wings are tasty!  :-)

Thanks for clarifying that, Jenn. :) (I still think it would be better if the discount didn't expire, though!)

I'm surprised you knew what my username meant, lol. I don't think most people know what tempeh is!

Dont believe it with iCoins from iWin! I had over 5000 icoins to spend and after I had cancelled the membership, they removed them without notice. This equates to over $65.When I cancelled due to the exchange rate (I am in Australia) I was told there would be a warning that this was to happen.I have a Big Fish account and this hasnt happened. I know which company I am resigning with!
