Aveyond 3

Posted: December 18, 2008 at 01:32
It will NOT be out on the 19th and that Game Alert at Amaranth does not state that it will.
It says; "Like Aveyond? Come back on December 19 for an awesome new game!!!" I'm pretty sure it won't be Aveyond 3 since beta testing haven't even started yet.
Aveyond 3 will come out Spring 2009. The official name is "Aveyond 3: Lord of Twilight"
And there is some info on it on Amanda's blog, there's interviews with some of the characters of the game. More info will come out on Amaranth in January.

Oh, and Aveyond 3 and Gypsy's Tale are two different games.

Here's some info on Gypsy's Tale:

"You probably don't know that I am a HUGE adventure game fanatic. I have decided it is time to make a fantasy adventure game. The setting is going to be rich, the style similar to Grimm's Hatchery with more variation in color. This is going to be a hauntingly beautiful game.
So what is the game about? The first thing you should know is that this game is in a universe called Eldrion. Eldrion is thick with magic, mystery, and myth. You play as Reylin of Winderalth, a gypsy who is drawn to the archaic. In this story, Reylin unravels the dark history around a village called Brenn, in hopes of recovering a magical treasure that awaits in a crumbling, cursed tower nearby."

No disrespect but the posts that were made were not false in the very least.  I did check out the blogs and yes, there are interviews with characters.  But the info in them isn't anything that isn't already known from the previous AV games.  Pointless to have such interviews and blog entries to go along with them if there is no new info about the storyline of AV3.

Quote:

Like Aveyond?  Come back December 19 for an awesome new game!!!"

End Quote

The wording is a little deceptive.  Amaranth is known for the AV series so even indicating AV to someone who may not necessarily understand English 100% is confusing.  Should have said the following:

New game coming soon (followed by brief description of it)!

This is less deceptive now.  I did hear from friends who once frequented the site that this does tend to happen.  Games come out later than the announcement date (so I'm not holding my breath on the 19th-miracle if the new game does come out as expected) and the wording of announcements, posts, is deceptive.  There was something about how for one or two days, Amaranth claimed another game to be theirs when I knew fully well that it wasn't.  I'd seen it on Big Fish and knew who the real developer was.  This mistake was fixed very quick but shouldn't have been made by a business in the first place.

Not meaning to bash but stating the facts.

Hello NTAV3,

Oh my gosh.  I immediately went to my friends after reading posts about guild members asked to supply ideas-to find out the truth.  They told me that it was and were so disgusted that they up and left.  Not wanting to do that hard work and not get any credit.  Understandable.  Why would a game developer do such a thing?  So confused.  With two children at home, I want them to remember that hard work and honesty are important values.  I am relieved that I know this now.  Will make my children stay far away from that place.

Well, back then before the blog, she mentioned that AV3 was supposed to be Aveyond 3: Gypsy's Tale.

Now I think she changed to another one and like, trying to split into two different games?

Nevertheless, the title Gypsy's Tale still sounds like it came from Bard's Tale. Moreover, The name Lord of Twilight seemed to have been taken from the movie Twilight.

As far as I know, the mock interview at the blogs there mentioned something related about vampires so is the movie Twilight. Its obviously that the Aveyond title did came from the movie.

On top of that, I doubt she'll ever get both games done in time, let alone setting an open beta for the players for both games together. (I know Amanda don't have time to do them all)

Well, I guess if it's some about Galahad and Te'jihal it's no wonder she took the name from that movie :D

Yes, but both Tei'jal and Galahad are vampires. And Galahad never loved Tei'jal. I'm not so sure she liked him either.

If anyone's interested; Amanda posted an interview with Tei'jal over at Amaranth Games.
