Hello all.  I am one of the developers involved in the creation of Aveyond 3 and am honestly disappointed to see so many rumours and accusations flying around here, by people who are just guessing.  So I'm just here to clear a few things up.
Aveyond 3: Lord of Twilight always had that title (forum members referred to it merely as AV3 but officially it was never called anything else).  Gypsy's Tale always had that title (though it may be changed).  They are two different games.  AV3 is due out in 2009.  GT, I believe, is due out in 2009 (I am not involved in its development but I do know it's being worked on right now).  Amaranth can do this because she has two developers working with her this time around, rather than doing them all herself (she mentioned this in her blogs some time ago).  Her games are popular, her company is growing - it's ok for her to hire people to help.
Aveyond 3 is not based on the Twilight movie.  The Twilight trailer was released late in 2008 from the very quick search I made.  The AV3 script had been completed several months before then.  Gypsy's Tale is not based on Bard's Tale, even though they both have Tale in the title (do a search on how many books/movies/games use that word - it's ok to use words that other titles use).
It was announced long before December that Aveyond 3 would be released in 2009, and that further information would be posted in January.  The "deceitful" announcement was that if you enjoyed Aveyond, there would be a new game on December 19 that you'd likely enjoy as well.  A few forum members jumped at the idea that it would be AV3, forgetting the other information that proved that was not the case.  There WAS a new game released on December 19 - it was not a game created by Amaranth (never claimed to be).  It was a recommendation - if you liked that, then you might like this.  Lots of sites do that, and none of them are accused of being misleading :)
Guild members ARE being given an opportunity to contribute in a VERY small way to the game this time around.  And from what I've seen, they all jumped at the chance.  Not one guild member has said they are unhappy about it.  Those who DID grumble a bit were the ones who missed out because they're NOT in a guild.  I haven't heard of anyone leaving because of it, but I guess if someone's unhappy, it's easier to go off and complain to everyone else than speak to the person they have the issue with and see if it can be resolved ;)  Be assured - the "ideas" provided by guild members are to make the game a little closer to home to them and those who are taking part are thoroughly enjoying it, but in NO WAY do they shape the play or the outcome of the game.  NOTHING depends on the ideas put forth, and the game would be exactly the same whether the contributions are used or not.  The entire script had been written before this invitation was made, and nothing has been changed as a result of the guild contributions.
Really - every person who is loyal to a game series and looks forward to the next instalment would jump at the chance to have their ideas put into the game, and many game developers either consult with, or take forum members' requests into account when making new games.  If you don't believe this, duck over to the LDW forums and check out VV threads.  I'm sure people here would love for Playfirst to listen to their suggestions for the next Chocolatier or Diner Dash game made.
So that's all the concerns addressed.  Just remember, next time you hear a rumour or an accusation, it's just as easy to pop over to the forum and ask than to hang around making speculations, or asking disgruntled ex-forum members, who may not have all the facts :)

hmmm - I had lots of space between paragraphs when I wrote that, not sure why they didn't come through.  Sorry it all looks so squashed.

Rumors? Not in here. Someone has too much time on her hands--shaz.  Obviously.  Someone pointed that you use the same name on your forum and you yourself said that you're a developer for amrathia games.
First, not a disgruntled former member. Far from “disgruntled.”  A very unsatified customer-HUGE difference.  As an unsatisfied customer, I have a right to free speech and to post my opinions as anyone else. You should watch using that word when dealing with a customer.  If anything that had been posted was inappropriate, Playfirst would have done something about it.  Because they do not agree with some's does NOT mean that they're wrong.  Ignorance is the best action, if such are rumors, not attacking members who have rightful opinions.  And others have said the same thing, too.  They've looked at the blogs, etc., and they have the same opinion. Twilight, vampires---raises an eyebrow at least.

The Twilight movie was released last year BUT the book series came out in 2005, much earlier than before AV3 was even conceived.  And the fifth book that was supposed to come out-someone that Meyer deeply trusted published it online for free so anyone could have had access to it.

Won't comment on others except to say that the wording is very DECEPTIVE.  Please be more clear in the future.

It's so sad when someone feels the need to attack others just because their opinions don't agree with certain people's.  It's fine not to like them but to trash them and to call them rumors is just pathetic. Find something else to do and to let you know, attacking people like
that on Playfirst is a violation of Terms of Service.

I'm not attacking anyone.  I'm pointing out the real story behind what people said they've heard or suspected, but never bothered to check.  I'm sure when the game is released, people who play it will realise it's not based on the movie or book.  I'd just like people to be able to make that decision for themselves, instead of being turned off it by misleading information :)

I don't mind that you know who I am, Phoenix :)  I tried to sign up as shaz, but the user name was already taken.  I have no shame in people knowing who I am - if I did, would I have said I was working on the game?  And for what it's worth, I don't use puppetry as a name on my own forum, so - once again - your information is wrong :)

I'm sure.  I could elaborate on who Phoenix is, if you really wanted me to.  But I don't think you want me to.

puppetry, would you mind not to say something like that here. If you attempt to leak information of other members in the forum, they might give you a warning.
LadyCara is one of my friends and we've met before, she never ever used any screen name "phoenix" before in her life so you definitely got the wrong guess.

If you still think my friend LadyCara is this "phoenix" you mentioned, why not ask that "phoenix"

Hahahahaha... I haven't been so entertained in ages! To think that Aveyond 3 is being kicked down even before it has a chance to stand up? XD XD XD Blows below the belt! And wow, to imply that the developers don't know enough to substantiate or trash rumours makes me wonder just where the rumours first originated, hmm? :D

Neither Te'ijal nor Galahad are THE star of Aveyond 3. The role of leading lady belongs to Mel, the descendant of Vel of Ahriman's Prophecy. Here's the link to her interview:
http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/news/article .php?storyid=96
(No new info about AV3, eh? :D And this was posted way back in November 2008 just waiting for readers to notice!)

This news entry from September 2008 states very clearly that AV3 and A Gypsy's Tale are two different games:
http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/news/article .php?storyid=93
There has been NO mention that I can find of AV3 being named Gypsy's Tale.

LadyCara, perhaps you would like to elaborate on how you'll put a brief description into a small square box in the sidebar? We are not even sure that Blossom Soft Games, creator of Eternal Eden, has allowed any site outside its official one to spoil the game ahead of its release date. I'm sure if users of Amaranth Games remember what they read they would've known that AV3 cannot possibly be released on Dec 19 when the tentative finishing date set is spring of 2009 (http://www.amaranthia.com/modules/news/article .php?storyid=83).

Perhaps you would like to ask your friends who left just when they left, what ideas exactly were being asked from them, how they assumed they weren't going to get any credit and if they've let the developers know their feelings about it before leaving, or just slouched away and bottled up their anger privately.

And just out of curiousity, what was your previous dissatisfaction with Amaranth Games? As far as I know, they try to respond to every dissatisfaction as quickly and as well as possible.

NTAV3, perhaps you should ask yourself where the name Harry Potter came from? Should we all get together for a strike until JKR changes the name into something a little more unique, like Barry Trotter? ROFL! Why are you quibbling about names, especially when three of the main cast are named Mel, Te'ijal and Galahad? I don't see any Bellas or Edwards around, and vampires in the Aveyond universe sure don't SPARKLE!!! XD XD XD

(If I were a Mazoku, I'd be glutting myself on all the negative energy here XD This has got to be the most delicious rumour spreading feast ever ^^)

I wasn’t going to say anything else but since there was a question for me in such a meanie way, might as well go to it.
Like I said some time ago, there are many things about Amaranth Games that I do not like but a couple of things are how some concerns are brushed away.  I had one of my friends who used to to be a member there tell me how she talked to the developer herself and she responded with an attitude and didn’t do anything bout it.  What kind of a business owner responds to clients not to bother them?
Forums--yeah, don’t like how things are covered up by deleting posts,
telling lies, rather than being open and telling the truth. I saw it happen in my time there!
The person you thought I was sounds familiar but that’s it! Seriously, I’m NOT her. I repeat: Not her. Period.
