Help! I don't make enough money!!

What is the secret to making alot of money? I only have 3 million dollars. All the ports are open except Sydney, and I'm told I need at least 10 million for Evangeline to open Sydney for me.
I try to make the expensive chocolates but what am I missing?? Everyone else on here seems to make so much more! Whats your secret?? lol
