Hi t_liefje and welcome to the forums!  You can create an avatar by going to your account page (clicking on your name at the top right hand corner of the screen takes you there) and then click the "personalize settings" button under your name on the left hand side.  This will take you to the avatars bit and you can pick one.  If you have the Diner Dash Hometown Hero Gourmet edition (downloaded from PlayFirst for PC users only), you can create a waiter and submit it to PlayFirst and then you can select this as your avatar, like a lot of users do.  You can download this game for free here at the site.  When you open the game it will ask you to log in, which you do using your PlayFirst log in name and password and then it'll take you to the main menu.  If I remember rightly the create a waiter and diner bit is at the top right hand side of the game.  Just click it, create your waiter and diner and make sure you press the submit button, so that it sends to PlayFirst and comes up on your page.  Good luck and I hope this helps.
