I will give anyone one tip:- if you have a PC with vista home basic don't put anything on it, I have had two computers with it, both different and the minute I installed anything, the 1st one came up with error message after error message after error message, the second took three hours to shut down!!!

vista is the best operating systems by far..its the person computer that isnt up to par..if you upgrade to a better operating system, why wouldnt you upgrade the rest of your computer?

i have no problem with vista just my video card thing, (sorry but still dont understand comp stuff). got the problem sorted and enjoying the game, my only problem is that i am slightly addicted to it lol.

has anyone found any otehr fixes for this? I have checked and double checked that everything is updated and everything in my pc is new so I cant figure out what the problem is.

I have had this problem, too, on two different computers, one running XP and the other is running Vista (*shudders*). I know that all my drivers are up to date and all specs are way more than sufficient.

The purple around the cursors shows up because the transparency settings are off for whatever reason, be it some glitch in the settings for the files themselves, or your computer. The easiest way to fix this is to go in with your favorite graphics program (though unfortunately, MS Paint won't do it) and reset the transparencies. For me, this took all of 30 seconds for all four files. I know in my settings the arrow cursors didn't have the transparency box showing, just the finger ones. There are tons of tutorials available via Google, but remember that while this has worked perfectly for me, its at your own risk to try it.

Same problem here. Updated video drivers. Laptop with Windows Vista Business. It works fine on XP. I searched for the transparency info -- but got all kinds of results except how to fix it. Could you please provide more info?

I'm having the same problem I have photoshop but cant figure out how to make the cursor box transparent. Searching google didnt help much either. What did you type in for the search?

I know nothing about a purple box, but as far as the transparancy, I have vista and used just my display. There's a trancparancy bar there? Just set it lower.
