Pet Shop Hop won't Start

I just bought this game at a store. When I install it, and it check CD-ROM, that part stops working and shuts down, but the installation still continues and finishes. Then, when I try to start the games, get the pop-up window "This program has stppoed working". I have tried unistalling and re-installing and still nothing. I am using Windows Vista. Any ideas?
