Stuck in the sky...I need Help

Ok guys...I'm flying on a gump chasing after Anzel and the guy from the University.  I gave my gump candy and we got close to the other gump but I can't figure out what to do from here.  I'm told I can't look down and I can't give my gump more candy.....I tried using the stuff in my inventory and keep getting stuck.  Can anyone remember what to do at this point.
