Tribute to MJ

Posted: July 7, 2009 at 06:39
Hi,
Tonight (7PM dutch time) there is a tribute to Michael Jackson in the Staples Centre.
I don't know what time that is in the USA, (I think 9 hours earlier, so 12AM?)
But I'm defenitely going to watch it.
Just wanted to let you know, MJ has made great music and he will be the King of Pop for ever.

In my country there are so many rumors because people don't know about this. I heard a news about MJ's missing brain. Wow can't believe.
Friday will be a TV show with a documentary, funerals or  something about MJ. Rest in Peace.

It is sad to watch this tribute. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. The tribute is on right now. I think he was to our generation what Elvis was to his generation. He will be missed.

You don't say dokey-dokey, I say dokey-dokey.

Michael Jackson was a great musical artist, no doubt about it. But, some people seem to ignore that he was accused twice of molesting children. When he was accused in the 1990s, he settled the case out of court. When he was accused again, he was found not guilty of all charges, but some of the jurors made comments that they simply did not like the personalities of some of the accusers' parents. Nobody will ever know whether or not this happened except for all of the witnesses and victims, but people need to keep in mind that it is rare that someone is accused of the same serious crime twice in his or her life.

I do love his music though, and 100 years from now, he will be remember for his musical talent, not his legal troubles.

I only liked a couple of his songs, and I think it's sad he died so young. But I don't think the news has to play pretty much ONLY the stories pertaining to him. Once he died, everyone totally forgot about Farah Fawcett, who, imo, fought a harder and more courageous battle than MJ did. She was battling cancer, a very painful disease that affects thousands of people. With her documentary, I'm sure she offered hope to those suffering from cancer.
Point is, no one even bothered to cover her death after Michael died, which isn't fair. My aunt's mother died of cancer; it's a terrible disease. Farah definitely deserved more coverage than she got. And I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone, but I'm sick of hearing about Michael Jackson. Even Billy Mays didn't get a tribute--or a lot of coverage!

Sorry, but I needed to vent. ;)

Pallas- Guess what? We agree! :) I think that Farrah did not get nearly as much coverage as she should have or Ed Mcmahon for that matter either.

Have you seen The Burning Bed? (1984) Scary movie but she does a great job and convinces people she is not a bimbo, but an actress who is quite talented...I believe she won a Golden Globe for this made for tv movie..

Lol, good to hear we agree, Don!(is it OK, if I call you that?)
But no, I haven't seen that movie. I don't really like horror movies. The only ones I've watched are Psycho, The Birds(parts) and Frankenstein.
Yeah, I'm just ticked that Michael took everyone's thunder. Even Billy Mays'! I thought he was annoying, but from watching Pitchmen, he's really a down-to-earth, kindhearted guy. His and Farah's deaths shocked me more than Michael Jackson's.
