One more tip...when you can, try to do both actions on the
right together.
.
For example, say you're standing
at the counter, waiting for food. The food has arrived for
the party at the top right and the top left. As long as
everyone is pretty happy, it's usually better to wait a beat
until the food for the party at the bottom right has also
arrived. (You can tell by the numbers on the food, which
match the table numbers.)
.
Now pick up the food
for the top right and bottom right. Deliver those, pick up
drinks. Go back to the counter.
.
Pick up food for
the party on the top left. Give it. (Still holding drinks in
the other hand.) Pick up food for the party on the bottom
left. Give it. Now give drinks to either the party on the
top left or bottom left, whosever most unhappy.
.
By now you may even have more drinks available at the
drink station, and you can run over there, pick them up, and
give them to someone on the right before they finish
eating.
.
But in any case, try to pick up orders
from everyone on the right on one trip and deliver orders to
everyone on the right on one trip. If there's only one
party on the right, you can use the free hand for drinks.
.
What you want to avoid is a zig zag where
you're delivering to top right, top left, bottom right,
bottom left, because that will take twice as much time.
This is where the bridge makes a big difference.
.
Good luck!
