Too much breeding

My villagers can't keep their hands off each other. Every time I leave and come back, 4 more people have babies. I wouldn't mind except I just need a few more level three technologies and I'd really like them to keep working so I can get GC and finish this game. Its starting to get really frustrating. Anyway to keep my villagers focused?

Do you have their job preferences set on 'breeding'? That could be the cause of it. ;D
