Flo's closet question

Posted: April 11, 2008 at 07:10
I thought there was a way to get new outfits for Flo in the new restaurants that we download to the game. For example, I read that you can get a Santa hat for the Winder Wonderland restaurant. Do you get these right away, or do you have to work for them? I have the same old clothes for Flo.

If only I knew Doc Brown, I could plan my life better.

There are three different categories of clothes for Flo.
.
1. Automatic. These appear throughout the story mode of the game. For example, you will get some baseball clothes for the ballpark, a jacket and tie for the museum, and so on. Once they appear in the closet, you can use them at any time.
.
2. Free, but optional. From time to time the online store (where you spend real money) offers free items as a bonus, usually to go with a new bonus restaurant. The Santa hat has been free since Winter Wonderland was released. There is also a free skirt outfit called "Fabulous and Free". To find these items, you have to have the Gourmet Edition (it will say Gourmet Edition on the main menu). Choose the Shop option from the main menu. Remember that you are spending real money here!
.
To find clothes, click on the My Waiter tab. (Even though it says My Waiter, you will be able to use the female clothes for Flo.) Look through the choices--each has a price. If the price is $0.00, it's a free item. Pick the ones you want and put them in your shopping cart. Then check out. Check the total carefully to make sure it's zero.
.
After you check out, the items will be downloaded. They will then appear in Flo's closet the next time you play.
.
3. Costs money, optional. This works just like the free items, except you're paying real money, from 49 cents to about $3 for the items. Check the specials tab, because they often have a package of several items together at a reduced price (like a hair bow, shirt, skirt, and shoes for $1.99, when the individual items are 99 cents each).
.
When you check out, you will pay with a real credit card. Again, the female items will download and be available for Flo.
.
In all cases note that as you get more items you will get more pages in Flo's closet. If you don't see an item, make sure you've checked to see if a new page was added, too.
.
Getting the clothes is like getting clothes for Barbie--some people love them, some just stick with the original. I thought the Santa hat was a nice free bonus.
.
Have fun!
Robin

Thanks for the info! I did buy the circle shades, but for some reason, they're not in the game. I'm going to check on that again.

I thought the circle shades were a men's item, in which case they won't show up in Flo's closet (she can only wear women's items or unisex items). They'll only show up for My Waiter.

But I see the store doesn't list them as men's, although the picture is of a man, so maybe they're unisex.

If you wanted them for Flo and they're a man's item, I'd write tech support to get your money back, since the store doesn't say men's item under My Waiter. (In the Sophisticated Sonoma bundle it says "men's circle shades," but you wouldn't know that unless you looked at the bundle under Specials. And that still wouldn't mean there isn't a unisex version.)

Thanks for that info!!! I didn't realize it was for a man. I guess I should pay more attention, but why can't Flo wear them? Oh well. I will be contacting tech support even though they were only .99.

That was very rude, and not necessary. People come here for help and support NOT to be treated like they are stupid.Go post outside, or better yet, if you have nothing usefull or nice to say .... shut it up.

lame , but noboby has ever called me stupid. I have met amazing people on this site, one even went out of her way to replay a game I was having trouble beating. and created a walkthru just for me {thanks again LB}.I don't understand why people think its ok to belittle others. It's not ok and it never will be.Thanx for your comment, I appreciate it.Happy gaming everyone. DB.
