You are not the only elder addicted to this game, lol!  I am soon to be 47, mother of 2 and grandmother of 4 and I love this series.  I own every game in this series, including the Gourmet game with restaurants you can add-on as they come out.  I LOVE DINER DASH!  I have experts on all but level 50 of Flo On The Go.  It is driving me crazy trying to get expert.  I got 200 points from it one time, and I have been trying for days.
 
Anyway, you are never too old to do the things you enjoy!  You are only as old as your mind feels.  Mentally I don't feel old, but when I look in the mirror I am dreadfully reminded, lol.
