Level 5-3, 5-8 and 5-9

I know this is an old game and don't even know if anyone even checks this forum anymore but I am so stuck on getting expert on these three levels. I have read the threads here and the walkthroughs on GC and still cannot get expert on them. There are so many things to buy, extra shovels, weeders and bug sprays that I run out of time before I can get enough mana to get expert. Can anyone post different methods for getting expert? Maybe I'm just too slow. Who knows.

hi feisty's mom, well i wish i could help but the walkthru on game cafe is the only way i was able to get expert on some of the levels, however i am still trying for 5-9, Jen has posted some ways to help on this forum for 5-9 for me, haven't had a chance to try it out yet but i know she is the ultimate gamer and following her walkthru's helped me tremendously on some of the DD levels.....all i can say is no matter how frustrating it gets...and it does.....just keep trying and you will eventually succeed and yes speed is very crucial...yes this is an old game, i had never played it but i found it for $4.00 at Big Lots and couldn't resist! anyway good luck to you!

Hi agoleman, thanks for answering. I've since got 5-3 and 5-8 but 5-9 still eludes me. I have read Jen's walkthrough but for the life of me I can't seem to get more than 10 roses planted and Jen said to plant 22. I'll keep at it tho, just like you. Good luck to you too.

BTW, agoleman you are right. Jen is the best. she's helped me many a time in the past.

hi fiesty's mom....name's andie...short for andrea lol....anyway yea i tried the walkthru on game cafe, it helped on every level i had trouble with except for 5-9, will try Jen's when i get a chance...she helped me lots with some of the DD levels over on RealArcade....have tried Jen's walkthru on DDHH for Disco Level 10...that one still eludes me on expert as well

Hi Andie, if you ever get level 5-9 let me know will you? I just can't get rid of the weeds fast enough to plant enough roses to get expert. It seems like I'm constantly having to upgrade the weeder and bug spray and then I run out of time. I may be stuck on this one forever. LOL.

I can still help, but I need to know where your at. Start with the first bit Can you save at least the 2 roses, cabbage, and turnip? Can you save any pumpkins and tomatoes? How many roses can you get in before the first storm cloud? Let me know anything else that is a problem for you.

haven't really had a chance to try your walkthru yet, was sick all weekend and back to work today, and next weekend is my son's b-day and mother's day, probly won't get to attempt it for awhile, anyway my problem is that i just can't manage to save enough money to buy that many roses what with having to upgrade water, weeders, spray, rainclouds,etc! i can save the 2 roses, cabbage and turnip

Hi Jen, yes I can save the two roses and the blue cabbage and pink turnip. No tomatoes tho. I think I can usually get in about 4 roses besides the original two before the first storm cloud. I think I'm just too slow. I'm still trying.

You know not to buy any statues untill the end right? Its best to wait for the warning bells to go off, and then quickly buy the 3 statues. If you buy any of them before that, you won't have enough money for the roses. You need 20-22 roses total, there are 2 seeds in each pack, so you need to buy 10 or 11 seed packs. I found that if you have more red roses, like 12 red and 8 yellow, then you can do it with only 20 roses. But if you have more yellow, or 10 of each color, then you will need 22 of them. Before the first storm cloud, I have upgraded my shovel, weeder, and water to a 4, and my bug spray to 5 or 6. I also have enough for at least one rose seed pack (2 roses), sometimes 2 seed packs, and I get them planted before the first storm cloud. With all the weeds, rocks, bugs, and a few harvets of your pink and blue roses, you should have enough money for all that. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!
