Smukat lost her dad, who had Alzheimer's. She has a thread about coping with her lost. I thought it would be nice if the community added a thread of condolences to her.

Aubry, those are great comforting words but I just want to say that even though we know that our parents are released from their suffering we still grieve and we don't grieve for the one we lost, we grieve for ourselves because a big part of ourselves is gone. About Me: I am disabled after a patient fell on me and totally shattered my right ankle. Having so much time on my hands with nothing to do...I discovered computer games. They have saved my sanity and allow me to still work my brain.
When not playing games I study American Sign Language.
Discovering a website like Playfirst was a God send. I don't feel so isolated and have "met" some amazing and highly intelligent folks in these forums. Hi Smukat. So sorry to hear about your loss. My mother had Alzheimer's and she passed away 8 years ago. It's a very cruel disease and the only comfort you can have is that he is beyond suffering now. But however much the loss is expected, it's still a shock and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Liz
