PlayFirst version superior to Big Fish?

Okay, please don't hit me for mentioning Big Fish on here... ;O

I'm just wondering, what are the perks to buying Dream Chronicles on PF rather than from another game site like Big Fish? Would it be worth the extra $10.00 to buy the Dream Chronicles 1 & 2 bundle? I know I can get both for $20.00 with a game club membership thing on Big Fish, but are there any major differences that I should be aware of first?

Also, are there any technical differences between games downloaded here and those from other sites... like do they take longer to load, tend to lag, etc.?

I'm sure the games are the same whether you purchase here on PF or Big Fish. Unlike DDHH where the Gourmet version is only available here. Both game sites are very reliable.

But you won't be able to get the PF medals for these games if you purchase on BFG.

No challenge circles or anything like that?

I'm not too sure that the medals are worth the extra ten bucks. Have you bought the game on here?

Challenge Circles & medals are exclusive to PF. Everything else about the game is the same regardless of where you buy it. The main advantage (for me) to purchasing games here is that I can get them sooner. PF games are released here first, then on other portals 6-8 weeks later. I'm not that patient!

You were too worried about food to go collect food. Now you're all DEAD! Hope you're happy. stupid v

I see. Thank you. Since DC2 was released a bit ago, it's already available on most sites, so I guess I'll buy from Big Fish. Thanks again. ^^

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

Fair Warning to new or previous Big Fish customers.

I purchased my first Big Fish game over 5 years ago. Up until last week I've never had a problem. Last week I downloaded my 6th Big Fish game. Can you spell HighJack!!! They pushed (forced) a front end Big Fish game loader onto my computer. No choice, no option to refuse, no nothing... just loaded it without permission.

I'm very particular about how I manage my computer files. I partition my drives and every game or application has its own category where I file corresponding information.

On the last download I entered my credit card number (i.e., paid for the game) and completed the download. As it turns out the downloaded file was only an executable. When it was launched, it linked back to the Big Fish games site and started the download... the problem is it interrogated my hard drives, found all the other Big Fish games I had installed, verified they were all licensed valid copies, then downloaded and installed a resource wasting GUI interface as well as several icons on my desktop. The GUI interface is a type of fancy full screen launch pad for all the Big Fish games on your computer.

While some people might like to have all their games pop up in one menu I don't need it. I know where my games are and how to launch them. The download 'that I paid for" never gave me a choice to decline the stupid interface or even select where on my computer I might want it installed. I also don't like a game site linking my computer back to their server and snooping around my computer for other versions of their games. All my games are registered originals but I couldn't help but wonder what the program might have done if it found an unregistered version of a game. Would they have disabled it?

Anyway... It took me over hour to remove the Big Fish interface and all traces of it from the registry. The good news is the actual game I paid for works fine. So... unless you want Big Fish games taking over your desktop and installing utilities without your approval then you might want to avoid Big Fish games.

NET: Big Fish has lost me as a customer! I actually found PlayFirst after I went looking for a new source for my games. I haven't found any bad press about PlayFirst pushing unwanted software with their games so I'm getting ready to download Dream Chronicles 1 & 2. I sure the PlayFirst downloads only contain the game (and not any surprise packages)
