Stuck on the first place after the Tutorville :(

I know this sounds silly but I'm stuck on the first town after the tutor town. I've restarted several times. I keep running out of beans! Help!

Are you borrowing money from the loan shark? Where are you spending your money (how much on research, advertising)? What price are you setting for your portions?

I usually start out buying 10 of each ingredients, I set my price at about $60 for the first potion when the demand is high and at about $55 when it is low, that is for swelled head. For flaming, I set it at $70 for high demand and $65 for low demand. Singing at about $85 for high demand and $70 for low demand.

For this scenario I put out about 30 mailers when demand is high (15 when low) and have the pop up gremlins to start with in the middle of town no matter what the demand is.

When I have money I upgrade to the better potion marker and get the jester to perform. I believe I borrowed everything I could from the loan shark ($1,500 I believe?) and then paid it back a little bit at a time. I believe I was putting mid $60 away daily for research.

It does get a bit challenging when you have all three potions you have to buy ingredients for. The dragons are pretty easy though and usually set their prices too high. It is pretty easy to undercut their pricing and still make a profit. Also make sure to invest into the Hush spell and then the Elephant delivery, which will help if you run out of ingredients during the day.

You can also make a bit of extra money helping with the 3 Pigs/Wolves scenario and Little Miss Muffet and the bikers. Oh and helping out at the concert at the beginning will help improve your reputation.

Thank-you. I was obviously putting the potions too low, only 35 and highest was 50 at the most. I was using popup gremlins and flyers - not mailings. I borrowed bits from the loan shark and couldn't pay back, so it kept costing more and more. I didn't do any spells either.
