DREAM CHRONICLE 3 THE CHOSEN CHILD REVIEW
I have waited and waited for this new installment of Dream Chronicles. Even though I am a Big Fish member, I went ahead and bought it from playfirst because I was too anxious for it's release and didn't want to wait another month or two for BF to release it.......having said all that.........I am VERY dissapointed in THE CHOSEN CHILD. It was WAAAAAY too short (I completed the ENTIRE game in about 2 hrs) and it was alot easier so that you really didn't have to puzzle through and use your brain like you did in the other two. I hated having to go back and forth, back and forth in the "nexus" to complete puzzles. This is actually what made the game 2 hrs long and not an hour was all the going back and forth. It was a BIG let down. All of us who are lovers of this series will have to play it because we will not rest until we try it ourselves, but BE PREPARED!!! it is not as good as the first two and if you are a member of another game site and you have free credits, I would wait till you can use them rather than pay FULL PRICE for it.

I will start off by saying I am a huge fan of the Dream Chronicles series and I've played/replayed both 1 & 2 numerous times.
For DC3, I think the storyline was good and the graphics were FANTASTIC but the game was way too short and too easy! DC 1&2 were much more complex and longer to play which made them very enjoyable and well worth the $19.99 each. I don't understand why this game was so easy and short, it was very disappointing in that respect. I don't think this game was worth $19.99 for those of us who don't subscribe to PlayPass. I agree with another reviewer who mentioned BFG, I too am a BFG club member, and didn't want to wait a couple of months for BFG to post this game even though I think a much more appropriate price would've been under $10 considering how short it was.
Buy it but don't pay the full $20 for it, you'll be disappointed on game length and ease of completing.
I think PF really needs to show us something in the next game for how many dream pieces we've collected as it's impossible to keep track yourself.
Overall, I give this game a B+ with the only detrations being ease of play and length of game.

I have Dream Chronicles & Dream Chronicles 2 and I played Dream Chronicles-The Chosen Child and I think this is the best of the three Dream Chronicles, its graphics and the scenes are beautiful ! Now I have to purchase this game. I am sure if you love the first 2 games you will love the 3rd!!

Not worth the money. I played games 1 and 2 and I felt the money paid was worth the amount of game play. I finished game 3 in less than an hour and didn't find any of the puzzles challenging. The game feels dumbed down from previous versions. It also feels like development was rushed to get something out for profit.
The dream pieces are now tiny clear circles where previously they were colorful orbs, hard to spot and after awhile I stopped looking because I had way more than I needed, same with the gold nuggets.
I understand now why the demo is 30 minutes vs. the typical 60 minutes. There's only 60 minutes game time in this. I'll be sure to not purchase any game where the demo version is only 30 minutes in the future.

The Chosen Child is a beautiful game and I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't played the first two Dream Chronicles. I love the first two DC games to the point that I thought anything that brought me back into this magical world would be great. When I replay the first two games, I still enjoy the incredible artwork and look forward to the challenge of random dream piece locations and changing puzzles.
I can't say any of that for The Chosen Child. It does not have the feel of a magical world at all. A pumpkin patch and a 2-room Herbalist's House with a weedy yard and half of a pumpkin stuck in the front door? None of the scenes have the sense of magic and magesty that the others have throughout. It is much shorter and has the feel of hide-and-seek with mini-games built in.
The whole game is frankly dumbed-down to the point that it's quickly boring. The ever helpful Fidget constantly interrupts the progress with advice no matter how often you play and he can't be turned off .
This game is better than many games on the web, but if you compare it to Chapters 1 and 2, you'll be very disappointed.

Great game. I love this series. My only complaint would be that it's way too short. The first 2 were much longer. I know they're trying to stretch it out, but at least give us our moneys worth. Again, I will say, awesome game. I enjoyed it very much.

awwww ... I was so looking forward to this but when it finally arrived I was very disappointed. There's nothing fresh or exciting about this one. Same old same old. As always, though, the graphics are wonderful and it's quite easy to play. It just wasn't very challenging. Overall I'd say I enjoyed playing it but wasn't thrilled.

Good, but really needs a map on the maze, like Dream Chronicles 1 had.

I'm a fan of the dream chronicles, bought this as soon as I knew it was out. Have to say very dissapointed at the length of the game, it's way too short and no where near as good as he first two. Having said that the graphics are very good and i like the nexus. Hope the next one give my brain a bit more of a workout.

Great game, but too short!!!! The puzzles were a little too simple. Dream Chronicles 2 was a little harder and seemed to be a little longer. I did like how you could go back and revisit areas. Graphics and story line were awesome. Music was really good too. Also, I ended up with all these gold nuggets and not knowing what to do with them. Did I miss something? I used a few to make amulets, but still had a whole bunch left over with no purpose. Make it a little harder and a little longer (but not impossible like the orginal Myst games) and I will give you a fifth star. This series is defintely my favorite amontg the playfirst games, but the second one was better than this one.
