The concept for this game is great, it just isn't executed well. First off, the 3D graphics are awful - they belong in 1998, not 2008. They're the worst I've seen out of all the games that PlayFirst has under its wing. The art style should've been more like Wedding Dash or Ranch Rush.
The game itself can be addicting. You earn money in poker games to buy various houses, which then allow more income. But it tends to be a lot harder then it might sound because the AI isn't too good. After you win a few tournaments, time and time again you're dealt junk hands until you've got no chips left. Or you're dealt great hands over and over except the community cards never match up! It's almost like the computer characters play with themselves and on the odd occasion, it includes you in the winnings. It certainly doesn't seem "random".
I do like the sound - there's a variety of character voices which say various poker-related terms and it makes the table more enjoyable than other computer poker games. Although some of the voices were low-quality - again, sounding more like a late-90s game.
If you're into poker, then definitely try this one out (it's worth that much, as I tend to play it more than other PC poker games), but lets hope they make a sequel and iron out the mentioned problems.

If you love something challenging this is the game for you. If you get bored of all the TMs or HOGs, and need a new challenge this is it.
I highly recommend this to all poker lovers. It's cute because it also has a goal, to be build up your reputation around Texas and eventually be the it's governor.

How many times can I change my name! I love this game and play it everyday. I love the graphics, and challenge of getting a lucky hand. However, I can't seem to get pass the next town without going back and selling everything to keep playing, but one day I will;-)

Love the game. Great graphics! Actually challenging poker game with those that bluff and bet big. Hint... folding more and waiting for that just right hand will get you a head

i think that is a funny and fantastic way to play a game! and also for incluiding poker to this tipe of games... that looks for kids but even is adults play they will see how awesome is all the game and all the fantastic graphics that we can see at governor of poker
