I have bee waiting since I beat the original Westward for this game! I checked Sandlot's website the other day and there it was, I did the trial and bought it right away. At first I didn't like that everything was so bubbly because of 3d, but now I am more used to it, and I really like it. I like that you can pick from 1 of 3 heros to help you out. Westward 2 is deffinatly harder, but in the same aspect is more fun, and I am enjoying trying to get all the awards. The only things I don't really like are the songs cause they become repetative, and that when you look on the world map, beside your three towns you see smaller blue or grey markers for side quests, well I wish that when you hovered over them they would say what they were for. The other thing I don't really like ( and this is because I would like to see how many I could get) is that you can't have more than a 40 population (I had 41 only because I completed a side quest after I reached 40). I haven't had any hiccups or wierd graphic problems that others have suggested, my comp runs on Vista and runs the game with high graphics just fine. I would highly suggest this game to anyone who liked the original!

I'm a huge fan of tycoon-esque games where you're in charge of building institutions and hire people and procure food and gold and what not! It's swell (Lol)!
Westward 2 is apparently supposed to build on the previous version, but I never got to play Westward 1 much, and when I did, I found it quite dull with BLEEP ugly characters acting lazy. Perhaps I didn't give that game a chance ... maybe!
But Westward 2 doesn't dull you for a moment. Once you get the hang of the game, and realise you can place your hero around locations by right clicking instead of dragging (which is a mighty drag!) you can concentrate on completing quests super quick, which are fun and sprinkled with good dialogue here and there ("Gazebo? That's a funny word ... Guh-zeebow!"). It's super addictive after a while, and can eat into a good section of your day. Some of the quests require you to visit forums and ask for other's help, while some secret quests are a complete mystery, unless you keep going at it, hit and try! I really enjoyed that part, not everything's chalked out... some things are ... uncharted so to speak! Along many quests, you get to make decisions, like whether to accept money instead of honor, which villian to chase .... which makes it more realistic. A good buy, I give it 2 thumbs up!

I loved the first game, and this one is even better than the original because there are more buildings and different items that you can buy. The graphics are also prettier. But, I have tried playing with all 3 heroes, and my hero eventually gets stuck every time! You basically can't go on if you can't move your hero around, so this means that you can't finish the game. I have re-started the game a bunch of times now, and I'm going to give up... until they come out with a patch or new version or something. It's so disappointing to not be able to finish it!

I liked the beginning off Westward 2, but after a while in playing it, it got really hard. I didnt have enough wood and gold to make another farm to get more food, and eveybody kept moving out due to hunger. It was really frustrating.. I am suprisingly glad that my free trial is over. If you like getting frustrated with a game, that I reccomend it to you. But if you dont, then please dont try this. I dont wanna be the person who tells you to play a bad game.

Westward 2 is harder than the original, it takes more planning. It is a very fun game, but for me there are a few bugs. I have tried all 3 characters, and the game will freeze, I have to start a new game just to be able play. It would be nice to get all the way through, and be able to move on.....

The tutorial took forever so I didn't get a chance to play the game much. There really isn't a help button in cause you are unsure what you can do next. I also didn't like that you have to click and drag players. It would be eaiser if you could just selec the player and then click the destination because they are sometimes far apart.
