It was implied I think at some stage that PlayFirst intend to do something more with the points in the future, at the moment though the only real use I can see is to ask questions and of course to compare against how many points other people have. Not sure I follow the logic behind asking questions costing points.
Right now, the points are simply bragging rights. However, in an introductory email from playfirst about the new site, they made it clear that RIGHT NOW the points are kind of useless, but that may not always be the case. So, hang tight, keep earning those points, and in the future, you may get to use them. :)
Playfirst said the points were for "Bragging to your friends" but I think playfirst might use the points in the future. I sure hope that they do because that would be really fun!
I think everyone is wondering this.Maybe PF thought it would be a good way to get people to log on every day.I still don't get the -10 points if you ask a question.Cause if no one asks questions, no one would be able to get the +5 points for answering.
I am under the distinct impression that PF is going to be using these points in a really fun way in the future giving us opportunities to spend them in other ways besides asking questions. If you read the posts of the staff members you will see they are hinting. :)Personally, I would love to buy an "edit" button feature for the forums for all of us to enjoy! LOL
as said in the 'what are points?' section of the site...
'You use your PlayFirst Points to ask questions. You can also show off, brag to your friends, or even divide them by a number of your choosing. We've heard people even name them, but we don't necessarily recommend it'
Hope that helps.
PS: If you do decide to name your points, please name one after me lol
