I just got my gold star today, and I think I know how to move up a rank. I have been trying this "theory" since I was in the second rank. What you have to do is... since you are a first-time tipper you can only answer 5 question per day right? so answer the 5 questions at least for a week. You also need to rate questions, and vote for other's tips. People will also vote for you. Thus if you have many tips out there there are more chances you will get "gave the best tip" and more chances that people will vote for your tips. So you only need to answer as many questions until you get to the rank you want. In order for me to get the gold star I had to answer 30 questions per day for 5 days. Not continuously because some days there wasn't that many that I could answer, so I let a day pass or more than 30 hours and then answer 30 questions. I also voted for others answers and rate others questions. I even asked 2 questions in case I need to do that. So just give thought ful and helpful tips and that's it. Good lock ;) I will vote for you.
The best way to earn more "stars" or move up rank is to answerquestions.
There is more to it than that however. People vote for best answers here on playfirst. The more that people like and understand your answer, the better chance you have moving up in rank.
When you answer a question make sure that is thought through, clear, and actually answers the question on hand. If you click on the question mark next to your rank title you can learn so much more about the ranking system. That would be the best idea right now.
Hope that this helps. And have fun playing your games.
