There are no restaurants to build in Amazonia. 
 
Are you referring to "Diner Dash" Restaurants?  You can design your own diner and create your own avatar too.

You are not alone.  I uninstalled the game three times and the trial play would still not open - rather, I am asked if I want to buy the game.   Minutes are being docked off too.
 
You're right that it looks like an interesting game but it's always nice to trial it first before the purchase.  [made that mistake before.] 
 
Sorry that I can't be much help.  I think there's a glitch in the actual loading of the game.  My plan is to wait for a week [maybe all the bugs will be gone?!]
