Hi Gizmo,
1st you have to turn on the light. There are flowers on the posts in the middle of the room around the stairs. If you click on one of these flowers, the light will light up one time, two times, three times or four times. Click the posts in the right order (1 light up, 2 light up etc) to turn on the light in whole.
2nd you have to "repair" the stairs. Click on the stairs and you'll see that the flower-lamp-posts will light up in a special sequence. So you have to replay this sequence (tip: take a pen and a sheet of paper to write down the sequences, like 1-2-3-4-3-2-1)
3rd everytime you complete a part of the stairs somewhere in the room some paintings appears. Collect them.
4th After completing the stairs and collecting all paintings, put the paintings back on the wall at the head of the stairs.
5th Collect the last 2 dream pieces and go out the room.

Hi,
the octagon thingies are spread in the whole house. Some are on the shelves behind and next to the grammophon, some are on the stairs, fireplace, on the floor etc. All in one there are 9 octagons to find.
