Senator Padme
Amidala is the wife
of Anakin Skywalker,
mother of Luke and
Leia. Although she
has the necessary
grace and class of a
politician, she is
also strong,
courageous, and
clever. She can
shoot with the best
of them, and can
almost always get
herself out of a
sticky situation.
Perhaps the only
fatal flaw was her
devotion to the
people she loved.
This was most
evidently a flaw
concerning her
husband, who,
tragically, would
eventually fall into
ruin and ultimately
become the cause of
Padme's equally
tragic death.

have I messed up with the orc prison and need to start over?

a bug. Fortunately, you aren't the only one to think of the same solution. Amaranth Games, who makes the Aveyond series, has a patch to fix this, located here:

In case the link doesn't work, the directions to find the patch are to go to www.amaranthgames.com, click the Community tab at the top, then scroll down a bit on the next page and click Village Square. Once here, scroll down to the Aveyond section and click Gates of Night (AV3-2). Scroll down a little and click on the post titled "Game Patches: Fixes for a few bugs". Now follow the link in the post and download the file corresponding to Patch #1: Get Back into Orc Prison.
Once you download and install the patch(really easy, trust me) I'm fairly sure you can just pick up from where you left off, if you saved before you used the compass. I had to download the Medusa patch for LoT and when I did that I just reloaded a previous save from right before I fought here and continued on my merry way.

Aveyond - Lord of Twilight
Awesome game! It has all the features you'd expect from an Aveyond sequel! The characters are awesome, and the worlds are dazzling. The chapter format being used for Aveyond 3 will no doubt provide endless, intriguing hours of gameplay as the choices you make now will affect later chapters. (Note: Aveyond 3: Lord of Twilight is only chapter one of a series called Orbs of Magic. It is not as long as other Aveyond games.) -
