    Farm Frenzy 3

Let's start off by saying that I liked the look and feel of the new game. The graphics were better and some of the levels not quite so difficult as prior games so I could play them without feeling like I didn't have a chance. However, that said, I gave the game a single star because of the following issues: First, the download file was huge -- 91mb. Given that I am on dial-up, I pulled the game down overnight. That's not a really huge concern, but it does deserve mention for anyone in a similar connection situation. (And since PlayFirst doesn't tell the game size any longer _prior_ to starting the download, the huge file size is a nasty surprise in the middle of the day.) Second, and most important, the game ran incredibly slow. Apparently it has a lot of overhead and puts a heavy load on the system. Whenever I won an award I literally had to wait a minute or two for the screen to build enough to where the OK button was active and I could get out of there (and the screen wasn't done building yet). And heaven forbid that two screens were building -- the one in the awards room and the one over the top of it for the award itself. Then it took even longer and I had to wait for two buttons to become active. And there was always a lag when I bought animals to add, or when the lions dropped in and I had to capture them. It seemed that any time something happened that required a decision by the game, the response slowed way down. All in all, I won't be buying this game because it is way too frustrating to play -- I don't have enough years left in my life. ;-) Too bad, too. It definitely had promise and I love the Farm Frenzy games.

chicklit has no multiplayer stats at this time. Why not invite them to a game of Diner Dash: Hometown Hero?
